Sunroom Q&A
We have included a Q&A below to the most frequently asked questions that we receive regarding our New haven Sunrooms.
Q. What type of foundation and flooring system will I need?
A. Typically, there are three different types of foundation system:
- Perimeter foundation (concrete or masonry) with concrete slab floor.
- Perimeter foundation (concrete or masonry) with insulated lumber deck floor.
- Pier footed deck (elevated deck) with insulated lumber deck floor
Q. What are the color choices with New Haven Sunrooms? A. New Haven comes in your two basic colors that compliment most homes, White and Desert Tan.
Q. Do Sunrooms get hot like the ones on some fast food store fronts? A. No! Actually we use the same proprietary Solar Intercept 3 Glass as in our Waterford Conservatories. Our premier glass has a Solar Heat Transfer Coefficient of only 2.4. This places us in the energy efficiency category for tax credits up to $1500.00.
Q. Is there a size limit to a New Haven sunroom? A. Not really. The roof panels used with New Haven Sunrooms will span distances greater than typical conventional roofs. Our aluminun frame work is designed to easily mill together giving us the capability of building long glass walls. If the desired size happens to go beyond our comfortable limit, we will guide our client into a Waterford Conservatory.
Q. Other sunroom companies can take up to 4 weeks to complete their projects. How long does a New Haven sun room take to build? A. Typically we can start within 3 business days from signing the contract. It usually taskes 2-3 days to frame out your new sunroom including the roof. The custom size windows are ordered and arrive within 2 weeks. Once the windows are installed we finish out any interior work requested by the home owner. Average time is 3 weeks start to finish.
